The Town of Lewisboro is in Westchester County, some 50 miles north of Manhattan and bordering Ridgefield, Connecticut. It is composed of six hamlets – Lewisboro, Vista, Goldens Bridge, Waccabuc, Cross River and South Salem. Whereas Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Salem, Massachusetts was known for witches, South Salem in Westchester features wolves, wines, and a pre-Revolutionary War restaurant - the Wolf Conservation Center, South Salem Winery and the Horse and Hound Inn, respectively. Due to its relatively sparse population, residents use Metro-North stations in Katonah or Golden Bridge and the hamlet is zoned for the Katonah-Lewisboro school district.
